Fibers with an aspect ratio of 30 to 100 are made by cutting thin steel wires, shearing cold-rolled strip steel, milling steel ingots, or rapid condensation of molten steel. The properties of steel fibers are very different due to different production methods. For example, the tensile strength of cold-drawn steel wire is 380-3000MPa, the tensile strength of cold-rolled strip shearing method is 600-900MPa, and the steel ingot milling method is 700MPa; molten steel condensation Although the method is 380MPa, it is suitable for producing heat-resistant fibers. A thin steel wire of a certain length and diameter added to strengthen mortar or concrete. Commonly used long straight steel fibers with circular cross-sections have a length of 10 to 60 mm, a diameter of 0.2 to 0.6 mm, and an aspect ratio of 30 to 100. In order to increase the interfacial bonding between fiber and mortar or concrete, various special-shaped steel fibers can be used. The cross-sections are rectangular, zigzag, and meniscus; the cross-sectional dimensions alternate along the length; corrugated; circular; Those with enlarged ends or hooks, etc. In order to disperse the steel fibers evenly in the mortar or concrete and increase the aspect ratio of the fibers, steel fibers bonded together by water-soluble glue into bundles can be used. Steel fibers can be manufactured by cutting cold-drawn steel wires, shearing thin steel plates, milling steel blocks or steel ingots, and drawing yarn from molten steel. To prepare steel fiber concrete for normal temperature applications, low carbon steel fibers can be used; while to prepare fire-resistant steel fiber concrete, stainless steel fibers must be used. Adding an appropriate amount of steel fiber to mortar or concrete can improve its tensile and flexural strength, and greatly improve its toughness and impact strength.
